If you are like the majority of the population, you probably have some type of credit card debt. While no form of debt is good, this kind of debt can be particularly problematic. As the borrower you have little control over the terms of your repayments. The best course of action is to consistently pay as much as you can every month. However, if you can’t pay or accidentally miss a payment you will see immediate penalties, an increase in your interest rate, and a decrease in your credit score. So, what do you do when you find yourself being dragged down by debt? Thankfully, there are companies that can help lower your overall credit card debt.

Debt settlement companies focus entirely on helping people get out of debt and lowering their credit card interest. They negotiate with your credit card companies in order to lower the overall amount you originally owed. This new amount will be determined, in part, by your total debt and the companies involved. Your new overall debt will still satisfy the companies and will be a lot easier for you to pay. The debt settlers will pay the issuer companies the lump sum while you make much lower monthly payments on the decreased debt. As an added bonus, the negotiations can often include the removal of negative items on your credit report.

Credit card companies benefit from debt settlement as well, even if they only get 50% of the original amount. They want their money back and through settlement they will be getting some of that money instead of harassing you and not getting anything.

Debt settlement immediately allows you to eliminate your high credit card interest rates, lower your overall debt and you can begin to improve your credit score. If you are looking for a way to reduce your stress and financial obligations, debt settlement might be the solution you are seeking.

The lending industry people know everything about the pros and cons of a loan modification service, but the people for which these companies have gained existence does not know a single atom of what and how a loan modification service works.

Firstly, when a loan modification agreement is signed it means that one existing loans terms are modified in order to meet the comfit levels of the loan owner. The original loan terms are then freshly modified wither by reducing the interest rates, increasing the loan length or some time reducing the overall principal balance. It all makes the loan payment easier to pay each month.

One should understand that loan modification is not similar to refinancing. Refinancing loan means one takes loan from a second party to pay their current debts, it is usually done because the second party allows loan terms much comfortable than the current one. But in loan modification, the case is one stays in their current loans but directly modifies the terms.

A loan modification usually does not require high credit scores and crystal clear credit records. Typically anyone can qualify for a loan modification, but more the clear credit records, the more grants will be offered. For instance the peoples with very good credit scores will get lower interest rates and longer loan terms than the ones with bad credit sc ores.

The most important part of loan modification is it helps on to stay at their homes. If they are terrified that their financial conditions are bad and they cannot make mortgage payment s on time and full amount each month, then loan modification service is what they need to help them stay in their homes.

Today, there has been a need of financial solutions that can help to solve the sudden financial crisis to cover unplanned and unexpected expenses we meet in day-to-day life. So there has been a demand of loans that are processed and sanctioned within only a day. Such type of loan is a payday loan (payday advance or paycheck advance) that is processed within a day and provides a good, easier desirable alternative to other short-term credit options for grabbing fast cash, regardless of one’s credit profile. You can have it if you have a steady income coming in.

A payday loan is a short-term, small loan that allows the borrowers to meet their expenses until their next payday that is, salary day. Using it to avoid late payment charges or bounced-check fees can actually save your money and put extra money in your pocket. Or it can be used to make a limited time special purchase which is there before your payday only.

The loan process can be retail lending or internet lending. The idea behind payday loan is that you are having your paycheck in advance for a fee from a third party. In retail lending, borrowers go to a payday loan lending store and request for a small amount of cash loan with full payment due on the borrower’s next payday which is usually a one to two week term. Finance charges are usually in the range 15 to 30 percent of the loan amount. The borrower gives a postdated cheque with full amount of loan plus fees to the lender. In internet lending, a borrower fills an online form and loan is deposited into the borrower’s account and the payment with the fees is withdrawn electronically on the borrower’s payday.

Payday loans have proved to be of immense help to people since last few years and they have gained high popularity in nations like United States, Canada etc. and big financial service providers are providing these loans. Now, people don’t need to withdraw money by credit cards because of this convenient option of instant payday loan. These loans have proved to be extreme useful due to their flexibility. So in coming times, payday loans are going to be a boon for both the borrowers and the lenders.

Revolving credit, a category of loans made up almost entirely of credit card debt, showed a 7.8 percent decline in December, according to the G.19 report. Earlier, the Fed had reported that revolving credit fallen in November 2008 at an annualized rate of 3.4 percent. On the other hand, that number was changed sharply lower in the current report to 8.5 percent. The changed in November decline was the largest ever recorded in terms of dollar amount and was the steepest percentage fall since January 1978. Overall, revolving debt fell to $963.5 billion from a total of $969.9 billion in November.

In the mean time nonrevolving credit fell 0.2 percent in December. In this section of the consumer credit report includes a variety of types of lending, primarily auto loans, student loans and loans for mobile homes, boats and trailers. Lending for new cars shows dramatic change: Average interest rates have shot up from 6.4 percent in October to 8.4 percent in December, and the average length of loans fell below 60 months for the first time in years. The auto lenders and credit card issuers are both signs, are pulling back on making loans.

The figures from Visa Europe shows that the points of sale payments for plastic cards increased by 10.3 per cent. In general, using credit card has been increased by 7.1 per cent, while debit cards were 10.9 per cent up on the year.

Visa’s Europe chief executive Peter Ayliffe said, “The use of Visa debit cards at point of sale is up by almost 11 percent in Europe… proving that we’re actively displacing cash and cheques at tills.” He also added “When consumers are managing their money, they have recognized that debit is the safer and more convenient alternative to cash.”

However, Visa Europe’s figures also showed that 7.1 per cent more debit cards were in use in 2008 than were in use the previous year. And for the credit card, the mark was 1.5 per cent rise.

One of the world largest credit card users Citi Bank is launching first biometric credit card system and the bank has chosen to launch it in Singapore. Around 190000 people age between 25 to 34 are going to be introduced to this system in Singapore. The bank said that there will be no extra cost for both merchants and credit card holders.

Jonathan Larsen, CEO and Country Manager, Citibank Singapore, said, “We’re launching this biometric payment solution as part of our launch of the Platinum Clear Card. And for the next couple of months, we will focus on making the biometric solution available to our Clear customers. However, very shortly thereafter, we will be broadening this to all Citibank cardholders…”

A global biometric authentication and payment solution provider Pay By Touch is providing the technology.

The authority of Chicago is evaluating the costs and benefits of early plan that would requires city taxi drivers to accept credit cards, but most of the taxi drivers are not happy about having to accept payment by credit card; with drivers arguing that the 5%t credit card transaction fee would end up trimming their wages which they cannot pass on to passengers. As a result, a $20 taxicab ride may just charge the driver one dollar, on the contrary, 10 of those fees per day can add up to over $200 each month in losses. Moreover, drivers expressed deep concerns that must the card system go down because they would lose always the fare if the traveler is not carrying any hand cash.

On the other hand, passengers and traveler are unhappy over the refusal of their credit cards can threaten to report the driver to Chicago’s Department of Consumer Services (DCS). But the cab drivers still refuse their cards because day by day gasoline price and maintenance charges become high and if they accept cards then it would be an extra pressure for them. According to Ron Flores, one of Chicago’s 5,500 cabbies, with the price of gas and passengers who do not tip, drivers can loose money transporting riders who use credit cards. However, cab drivers say they have a better idea for the passengers; and that is the passenger and traveler can offer a bigger amount tip to the cab driver before he rejects the card. So, if you plan to go any where and want to pay taxi fare by plastic, you should prepare to give extra tip to the driver!
